Winding Trails, CT

Just about 2 hours from Long Island is a beautifully laid out cross country ski area called Winding Trails.

With just 18k of tracked terrain, they have done an outstanding job of putting it all together.

The first afternoon we arrived, we did a 5.8k loop, stopped for lunch, then did a 4k loop.  All in all about 2 1/2 hours of delight.

There are very few steep sections of the intermediate and advance trails and none of the climbs are long.

A good alternative to Minnewaska or Fahenstock, if they have snow.

Winding Trails is East of Hartford, just off I84, in Farmington, CT.
